We're BAaaaaaack!

Okay, it looks like we're back!

Right now we are watching the Biggest Loser Families on DVR from last night.  With the start of a new Biggest Loser, it looks like we might get motivated to get going again.  I've lost a few lbs, nothing major, but I haven't gained.  Unfortunately, Tim can't say that.  He says he's going to give me an official weight tomorrow.

I haven't been here in quite a while so it will be interesting to see who's still around, who's losing weight and who comes back with the new show.

I hope some of you will stop by and leave us some messages of encouragement!

You'll be seeing less of me!  Which reminds me I need to change my profile picture, I can't believe I thought that was good at one time.  I've lost quite a bit since then so I need to change it!

I'm STILL at it...

I just wanted to take a moment and let anyone that might be checking up on me know that I am still at it!

Since last posting, I have lost 13 more pounds!  Which thankfully has put me back in the 200's where I should have never let myself get out of in the first place!

Tim is trying to get back on track and I am hoping he'll get motivated soon.   He was doing so well for so long.... I just have to think of a way to make him want to get busy again.

Thanks for checking in!

It's been a few weeks since we've reported...

It's been quite some time since I've actually posted and given our weight losses.   The important thing is, even though we haven't been reporting, we are both still right on track and very happy with our progress.  Slow but steady... and after years and years of being fat and Yo-Yo dieting, losing lots of weight and then gaining lots of weight, it's time to lose it slowly and keep it off.   Here are our losses from the last 4 weeks...

TIM
======================
Week 11   231.8   -1.2
Week 12   230.8   -1.0
Week 13   232.3   +1.5
Week 14   229.2    -3.1
======================
                            -3.8 Lbs

ROBBIN
======================
Week 11   314.8   -1.6
Week 12   314.4   -0.4
Week 13   314.0   -0.4
Week 14   310.4   -3.6
======================
                            -6.0 Lbs

I think the most important thing we have BOTH done is we have changed our outlook towards food and the choices we freely make.  We aren't following any "plan", we are counting calories.   We choose where to spend those calories and nothing is off limits.  Funny thing is, we are making choices we never would have made before... good choices.  I think we are both happier because of it and we are definitely getting healthier because of it.

Tim looks AWESOME!   His stomach has gone down so much and he is sporting all his smaller sized clothing and looking sharp all the time.  His weight loss gets noticed alot because he has lost a larger percentage than I have.  He's lost around 12%, I've lost around 9%.  I have alot more to lose than him, so I expect it to take awhile before people really notice any loss on me.  At 30 lbs, it's starting to show a little, but I still have a long way to go.  I don't focus on the total though - I focus on today... "One choice, one day, one pound at a time!"

On another note we have discovered a new family activity.... game... sport... whatever you want to call it.   Read all about it on our other blog at http://t2x3.blogspot.com

I hope everyone is still out there, doing their thing and not giving up just because Biggest Loser challenge is over.  We still have lots of weight to lose and we can do it!

I'd love to hear from any of you who are still out there plugging along...

Be blessed!

A Week for Gains

Well this week wasn't so good.  Like Mark and Jay of the biggest loser, I posted a gain this week and I was not happy.  It's the first time since Robbin and I started the challenge together that I haven't lost weight.  Let's just say, I celebrated the weight gain the whole day and night long.  I'm still waiting for Robbin to say April fools, I moved the scale (Wished I would have thought about that yesterday before she weighed, now that would have been funny).

Last couple of weeks I have been getting of track a little bit, but didn't think what I had been doing would cause a gain, hoping it was more of a water weight gain than anything.  We camped this weekend in the Okefenokee Swamp, and were able to get in some walking exercise which is good, we both need to work on this a little more as we still aren't exercising much.  Monday was also our last night of First Place (The class we have both been taking together at the church).  Don't know yet if either of us will continue on to the next class or not, so check back on that decision.  This week I intend to work a little harder and get back on track like when I first started the diet/life style change in January and see if I can get back into the plus column or is it the negative column?  Which ever means dropping the weight.  Robbin's still doing very good, she didn't lose a lot of weight this week (1/2#), but a loss is a loss and I'm proud of her for
sticking to it.

Hope everyone else's week was better than ours (And Mark and Jay's) and you had some significant weight lose.  Till next time, keep on keeping on...

Never though a pound would make me happy...

A one pound weight loss!  Never thought I would be happy with that, but I am.  It was an extremely poor week of eating.  Had three days in the office that birthday's were celebrated, and one baby shower.  This week was also the week that one night I volunteer with the CSX caring hands team at the Ronald McDonald House and we prepared my favorite meal... Beef Tenderloin, Mashed Potatoes (with a truck load of butter in them), Fresh Snapped Green Beans with mushrooms and Onions stir fried in a second truck load of butter, Ann's famous Anti Pasta Salad (really good), desserts galore (Am I making anyone hungry yet), and other things.  Then there was Easter, got to have Easter dinner with the family right?  Put all that together and how I managed a pound this week is a miracle in itself, so really happy with just a pound.

Bought some new shirts and ties this week (have to give Robbin credit here, she found the ties) and have started to wear my much dressier looking slacks.  Just those two things have really helped, because I think I look good in them and that makes me feel really good about myself.

Ok so this week I learned something new, desserts don't have to be 10,000 calories a slice to be really good.  For Easter Robbin made a WW pineapple Angel food cake for dessert, think she said it was 140 a slice and have to say it was outstanding (She keeps making desserts like that, and I just might have to keep her).  But at the same time, I also learned that not all healthier alternatives taste good either.  Last night in the class that Robbin and I are taking together the facilitator made some healthier alternative bran muffins.  Let's just say, I'm pretty certain had my dog been there, he wouldn't have eaten it either.  I took one bite and tossed the rest.   But to be fair, it may not have been the recipe.  I'm not sure baking is our facilitator's forte.  Til next time, keep on keeping on.

Tim

    Robbin,

    Oh my thank you for sharing your personal experiences with us. Definitely not that its a good thing that you have experienced the same thing as I.  However comforting to know that someone understands me. I would so like to be able to sit down in a chair without first having to size it up compared to the size of my rear. Yeah we love the Disney property and usuallly visit twice a year. We refuse to go back now until we are down 100 lbs each. I could not even enjoy myself this time. Did you happen to see my picture of the chair on the cruise ship. Oh my I just hate chairs with arms. I hope you guys are doing good in your joiurney. Many blessings Melissa
